The Treasure Hunter by Robin Moore and Howard Jennings
This book, based on the true-life stories of treasure hunter Howard
Jennings, was really responsible for opening up the world of exploration for me. The time I first read it, I was working as
a private investigator and I decided to find out if his stories were actually true. In my efforts to find Jennings, I spoke
with Robin Moore, who told me that Jennings had unfortunately died a few years earlier in a commercial airplane crash in Istanbul,
while on the trail of one of the greatest treasures of his career.
Following in Jennings footsteps, I visited
several sites mentioned in The Treasure Hunter in an attempt to verify his stories for myself. Among these trips, I went to
Coaque, Ecuador and was able to eventually track down Atahulapa, one of his workmen, who confirmed Howard's story for me.
I
traveled to the site of the lost city of Olancho in Honduras and the Paulaya River on the Mosquito Coast. I later visited
the small river outside of Oyacachi in Ecuador where Howard panned gold in his frying pan - all with the same results: the
stories were all true.
This terrific book is essential reading for treasure hunters, prospectors, adventurers and
explorers. It inspired me to be able to eventually make a comfortable, full-time living as an explorer. I believe you will
find it as compelling as I did.

A Claim In The Hills, by James Wickenden

This is one of the very best books I have ever read about diamond prospecting in South America.
It is a true adventure story of a young man who left civilized life in the West Indies and set out alone to prospect in the
remote mountain ranges where the borders of Brazil, Venezuela and (what used to be called) British Guiana meet. His object:
diamonds; his tools: shovels and a sieve; his companions: the Macoushi and Patamona Indians.
He lived with these Indians for some years, searching for diamonds in the beds of jungle
streams and greatly enjoying the potent mixture of lotus-eating and spartan endurance that was his lot in the grandiose diamond
country.
For the prospector and general reader, some of the fascination of this story lies in the
life of the tribes: hunting with bow and arrow, fishing with traps, participating in their feasts, observing their taboos,
and countless other aspects of tribal existence - including their mysterious sexual code. Then there are tropical storms and
floods, snakes and animals, which are an ever-present danger in this country.
A Claim In The Hills is filled with excitement, told in the first
person by the prospector explorer to his close personal friend, James Wickenden. Besides being a story of high adventure,
it is also extremely helpful in learning the details of how to prospect for diamonds. ( 263 pages, formatted black text
on white background for ease of reading and printing).

how to find gold, treasure and lost cities.

The Jungle is a Woman by Jane Dolinger

The Jungle is a Woman
really reminds me of my own experiences as a young gold prospector in Mato Grosso, Brazil in the late 70's and early 80's.
I still remember the time I had a "first encounter" with a tribe of Cinta Larga Indians while inspecting our new, small mining
camp landing strip on my very first day ever in the Amazon Jungle. See if your heart doesn't race while reading of Jane's
amazing and true Amazon adventures.
This book serves as your perfect guide to learn how to enter into and explore remote,
unexplored territories, especially jungles throughout the world. The information in this book is just as applicable today
as it was when the book was written.
Learn how to travel light and navigate into unmapped lands. Learn to deal
with wild animals, restless, non-contacted natives, food gathering and preparation, and scientific data gathering. If you
do what this author did, you will become a successful explorer and live a life of adventure. I promise you, this book is the
real deal when it comes to heavy-duty exploration!

Wilderness Survival Manual

Wilderness survival has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy
scout. As I grew older, I was fortunate to be able to study survival and first aid as part of my university studies. Several
years later I was to become lost in the Amazon jungle on two different occasions. My survival skills came in very handy and
were a great comfort to me until I was able to get myself reoriented and back to my base camp.
On another occasion
I was involved in a small plane crash in another extremely remote region of the Amazon jungle. Fortunately, no one was seriously
injured and we were rescued after only 3 days and nights of being stranded. Had the rescue not come, I was fully prepared
to launch a stable, bamboo raft and float back to civilization. At the time of rescue, my stomach was full of delicious caiman
and piranha meat, cooked to perfection. I was not in the least bit concerned for my life.
In this day and age of widespread
natural disasters and terrorism, you don't even need to be a Boy Scout or explorer for this information to be potentially
life saving! Dozens of Hurricane Katrina victims could have survived had they been masters of the information in this Wilderness
Survival manual. Unexpected survival emergencies have occurred in my life on several occasions and could occur in your life
at virtually any moment. You need to be prepared!
This huge, 300-page manual of 23 chapters, cover every imaginable
aspect of survival in any and all environments. Dozens of detailed illustrations help to make this manual crystal clear. Learn
to find safe drinking water, scavenge nutritious food, build a fire with no matches, and sleep warm and dry in any condition
or environment. Learn to move undetected through hostile environments as you work your way back to a safe harbor.

There is nothing that this amazing Wilderness Survival manual does
not include. Learn to save your loved ones and yourself, no matter how dim the odds may look. Learn to survive and thrive
in any situation that you may be thrust into. Come out alive and well every time!
